PILLARS OF OPERATION

Human capital development – a well-informed human resource base that is sufficiently equipped and empowered to initiate, influence, and lead change
Social transformation – leveraging the opportunities of the local government system to build better societies.

APPROACHES
To achieve its mandate, SoWA makes use of multiple platforms and channels. These include media engagements, advocacy through campaigns, policy dialogues with policymakers and other stakeholders, as well as community engagements.
Media engagements: The organization leverages traditional media channels through participation in policy discussions, news review programs, social commentary, and interviews to communicate its message.
Advocacy: SoWA takes action, argues for causes, and often speaks in favor of policies that enhance the socio-economic well-being of the citizenry.
Policy dialogues: SoWA periodically hosts roundtable discussions, town hall meetings, conferences, and workshops to offer policy proposals, capacity-building presentations, and other interventions to drive its human capital development and social transformation agenda. The exchange of ideas with policymakers and participation in stakeholder engagements are central to SoWA’s transformation agenda.
