Akwatia, Eastern Region – Social Watch Africa’s Students Engagement Initiative (SEI) made a significant visit to the Boadua R/C Basic School in Akwatia, part of the Denkyembour District on Tuesday, 18th November2025. The initiative aims to inspire and educate students about the importance of career choices and the value of every profession.

During the visit, the team engaged with Junior High School (JHS) students to discuss various career paths, emphasizing the importance of respecting all professions, regardless of societal perceptions. Lead Advocate, Kojo Addo took the opportunity to encourage students to recognize the intrinsic value of every job, challenging the notion that some careers are inferior to others.

“Every profession plays a vital role in the fabric of our society, and it is crucial to appreciate and respect the contributions of those in various fields,” Kojo stated. He further provided insights into various career opportunities available to students, motivating them to think broadly about their futures.

In addition to the enlightening discussions, the SoWA also donated essential educational materials to support teaching and learning at the school. This gesture underscores SoWA’s commitment to enhancing educational resources and fostering a positive learning environment for students.

The event concluded with a rallying call for students to aspire to their dreams while valuing the paths of others, reinforcing the collective responsibility to uplift every vocation.
Social Watch Africa’s team left behind not only educational materials but also a renewed sense of purpose among the students, equipping them with the knowledge and inspiration needed to pursue their chosen careers with respect and enthusiasm.
